Santasangre (Italy)
Since its beginnings, Eurokaz has systematically followed Italian innovative theatre, and Santasangre`s work draws attention to the new generation of uncompromising Italian theatre artists. Santasangre is an artistic project that originated in Rome in the beginning of the new millenium. Its goal is to explore the vacuum above everyday speech, equally combining visual art, music and the performing arts.
Six Degrees is a resonating experiment in which holographic images create sound directly on the stage, while forces of nature bring magical light of large dimensions. The starting point of the project is the exploration of the term “Apocalypse“ from layperson`s point of view, outside any religious context. In front of the audience is an arid landscape, ground swept by wind.
The dramaturgy of this technologically complex and artistically sophisticated play uses four characteristic movements as a starting point and is based on Aristotle`s Physics. The project offers an extraordinarily beautiful and powerful personal view through music, photographs, sounds and body... Every component of the stage is subject to a gradual metamorphosis, thick with visual and acoustic layers.
